Client is a consulting and technology firm and Veeva partner that helps pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and MedTech companies strengthen their Commercial and Medical Affairs capabilities through technology, consulting, analytics, and digital transformation solutions.
We are looking for a Medical Affairs / Pharma Pre-Sales SME who combines deep pharmaceutical domain knowledge with strong consulting, business development, and solution-oriented communication skills. The ideal candidate will understand Medical Affairs and be able to translate business challenges into technology-enabled solutions for clients.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert supporting pre-sales activities, client engagements, solution design, and business development initiatives across Medical Affairs and adjacent Commercial functions.
This role is ideal for a PhD, PharmD, MD, or other doctoral-level professional with experience in Medical Affairs, pharmaceutical consulting, commercial analytics, or life sciences technology. Candidates who have worked with organizations such as ZS Associates, Indegene, or similar life sciences consulting firms are strongly preferred.
Professionals currently working in solution consulting, sales enablement, client advisory, or pre-sales roles are encouraged to apply. Strong Medical Affairs practitioners with consulting experience and the ability to transition into a client-facing solutions role will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Medical Affairs and pharmaceutical domain expert during client discussions, discovery sessions, and pre-sales engagements.
- Understand client challenges across Medical Affairs, Medical Information, Medical Science Liaison (MSL) operations, scientific engagement, and omnichannel medical strategy.
- Translate business requirements into technology-enabled solutions, consulting proposals, and implementation approaches.
- Support sales and business development teams with solution presentations, proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and client demonstrations.
- Explain how Veeva platforms, life sciences technology, data, analytics, and AI can address Medical Affairs and Commercial business needs.
- Partner with technical architects, consultants, analytics teams, and delivery leaders to develop practical, client-focused solutions.
- Contribute to discovery workshops, solution architecture discussions, proof-of-concept initiatives, and account growth strategies.
- Communicate complex scientific, medical, and technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders and senior executives.
- Stay current with pharmaceutical industry trends, Medical Affairs transformation, emerging technologies, and evolving client needs.
Required Qualifications
- PhD, PharmD, MD, or another relevant doctoral-level qualification in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, medicine, biomedical sciences, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, MedTech, or life sciences industry.
- Demonstrated experience in Medical Affairs, pharmaceutical consulting, commercial strategy, analytics, or life sciences technology.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical business processes and the challenges faced by Medical Affairs and Commercial teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to connect business requirements with consulting, technology, analytics, and digital solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with ZS Associates, Indegene , or comparable life sciences consulting, analytics, or technology organizations.
- Experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, sales enablement, client advisory, business development, or solution architecture.
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical clients with Medical Affairs transformation or Commercial excellence initiatives.
- Familiarity with Veeva Vault Medical, Veeva CRM, Medical Affairs applications, or related life sciences platforms.
- Exposure to AI-enabled solutions, data analytics, omnichannel engagement, and digital transformation in life sciences.
- Experience developing proposals, responding to RFPs, conducting client presentations, or supporting strategic sales opportunities.
