Job Title: Assistant Manager

Job Description

The Assistant Manager position involves overseeing and directing HVAC projects from conception to completion. The role requires adaptability and the ability to work in a high-paced environment, including office, warehouse, and construction site settings. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the President and Vice President to manage a variety of duties related to scheduling, purchasing, and general project management for HVAC installations and services. Responsibilities

Manage 10-12 service technicians with a focus on communication and collaboration via phone and email. Receive service tickets through a third-party answering service and make outbound calls to schedule services. Notify the warranty company of scheduled services. Engage in limited sales activities, mostly upselling to existing customers. Oversee and direct HVAC projects from start to finish. Supervise various tasks to complete HVAC projects efficiently. Ensure smooth information flow from project inception to team members. Schedule HVAC installation and service tasks using internal and external software. Manage HVAC design and installation processes. Recruit, hire, train, and terminate personnel as needed. Troubleshoot HVAC systems during installation and service. Manage and purchase HVAC parts, materials, and equipment, ensuring timely delivery. Perform accounting and bookkeeping tasks to ensure project profitability. Essential Skills

2+ years of experience in customer service, sales, or recruitment. Exceptional phone communication skills. Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience in construction, trades, utilities, or industrial environments is beneficial. BS degree in construction, business management, architecture, engineering, or a related field. Ability to perform physical tasks indoors and outdoors with stamina and strength. Knowledge of hand tools, machines, and equipment used in HVAC work. Effective communication via email, text, telephone, or in person. Proficiency in conflict and crisis management. Leadership and human resource management skills. Excellent time and project management abilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications

HVAC/service experience is a plus but not required. Experience with ADP sales or recruitment is advantageous. Willingness to be cross-trained in areas like payroll and work order entry. Ability to plan and see the 'big picture.' Teamwork skills and the ability to follow instructions. Work Environment

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
