Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Norfolk, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/29/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Medical Surgical Floor Nurse Day Shift 09/29/2026 to 12/29/2026. This position involves providing patient care on a busy acute care unit specializing in general medical and surgical patients. The RN will be responsible for bedside patient assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with team members to ensure quality care. Job Details Schedule: 12-hour days, minimum 36 hours per week Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse (RN), BLS certification (AHA), minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical (MS) nursing experience, experience with EPIC documentation, ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio, experience with bedside shift report, and titration of drips such as Heparin, Bumex, Lasix Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC documentation, experience with shift work (Days vs. Nights), familiarity with common MS diagnoses such as pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory virus, and surgical patients (orthopedic, general surgery, spinal, urology) Float: Float rotation may be required, including to Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) for Medical Surgical assignments Additional Information: The unit supports high turnover on day shifts with patient discharges and admits. Independently reading telemetry strips is not required; telemetry is monitored by cardiac tech 24/7. The unit expects teamwork, bedside shift reports, proactive patient rounding, and adherence to dress code (navy blue scrubs). Orientation is 1.5 shifts, and the unit uses EPIC for charting.
