Encore Instructor

Position Summary The Encore Program at San Juan College offers one-credit academic classes for older adults and other students 18 and older. Instructors teach 16‑hour lectures or 24‑hour activity/lab courses during Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions, with flexible scheduling based on content and classroom availability. Responsibilities Develop and deliver course content, create syllabi, and manage classroom instruction. Teach classes in the classroom or at special presentations, including field trips. Attend orientation and assist with marketing of courses, approved by the Community Learning Center Director. Submit detailed class proposals for each session. Qualifications • Must hold a college degree or specialized certification suitable for the Encore program.

• Previous teaching experience is desired.
• Ability to work part‑time as adjunct faculty with fixed‑term employment.

Employment Type Exempt, Adjunct/Part Time Faculty (Fixed Term). Compensation $801 per credit hour. Remote Work Remote or hybrid work may be approved for adjunct employees within New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas, subject to prior approval by the Dean and Human Resources.
