Alterations Associate

Job Description As a Tailor, you will be conducting alterations, resizing, and restyling of all merchandise retailed in Neiman Marcus stores. You will assist fitters in achieving their goals with professional assistance with fit, alterability, and structural quality of apparel merchandise. Responsibilities Alter constructed garments to meet the standard of quality set by Neiman Marcus equal or better than original construction Alter seams vented or unvented, take in shoulder blades, reduce chest, narrow shoulders Rotate sleeves, shorten sleeves Shorten back, shorten collar, and square shoulders Shorten coat, re‑line coat, or remake inside or outside pockets Operate and maintain all sewing equipment Self‑inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met Complete alterations assigned tasks, as assigned by Supervisor/Lead Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form Complete tasks assigned by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Qualifications Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment, with exposure to a variety of garment styles and types of fabrics, is preferred Ability to read English and understand instruction by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure Career and Benefits Opportunity to work in a dynamic fast paced environment at a company experiencing growth and transformation Exposure to rewarding career advancement opportunities across the largest multi‑brand luxury retailer from retail to distribution, to digital or corporate Comprehensive benefits package for all eligible full‑time employees (including medical, vision and dental) An amazing employee discount Salary and Other Benefits Salary Range $29.48 – $36.86 per hour (based on market, experience and other qualifications).
