Job Details:


• Work 12-hour shifts with both day (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) shift times available
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• 1 holiday requirement per contract
• Schedule made in 6-week increments
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3; team nursing with experienced MedSurg RN when census exceeds 2 patients
• Care for a diverse patient population including general/medical, cardiac, trauma, surgical, and neurological cases
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred
• Required skills: ventilator/trach management, tube/drain management, chest tubes, invasive line management (arterial line, CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, surgical recovery, and medication titration (sedation, pressors, cardiac, pain, paralytics)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Preferred skills: abdominal pressure monitoring, EVDs, CVVH, and IABP
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• May float anywhere in the hospital within scope of practice; travelers float first
• When floating to MedSurg/Tele units or ED Boarding with MS patients, ratio will be 1:4
• Scrub color must be any solid color, professional; no graphics, logos, or designs
• Free parking available in designated employee areas


Facility:


This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 91 total beds, operating a 14-bed ICU unit. The department is supported around the clock by hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapists, with additional support from charge RNs who typically take patient assignments, CNAs, bedside and centralized telemonitoring, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy during daytime hours. The facility maintains a strong team-based approach to patient care with robust resources available to support clinical staff.
