Graphic Designer, CareerLAB (In Person, Houston, TX)

This role is completely volunteer and hybrid in Houston, TX. We are seeking a dedicated and organized Graphic Designer to join Asian Career House. Your designs will be instrumental in promoting community building and engagement. Responsibilities Create visually compelling graphics, illustrations, and layouts for various digital platforms including social media, website, and app interfaces. Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop visual assets that align with our brand identity and messaging. Design promotional materials such as posters, flyers, and banners for events, campaigns, and fundraising initiatives. Assist in the creation of infographics and data visualizations to communicate complex information in a clear and engaging manner. Ensure consistency in design elements and brand guidelines across all communication channels. Stay updated on design trends, techniques, and tools to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of our visual content. Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative input for marketing strategies and campaign concepts. Minimum Qualifications Proficiency in graphic design software such as Canva and Figma Strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and creativity. Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Passion for mental health advocacy and commitment to promoting well‑being within diverse communities. Preferred Qualifications Graphic design and marketing experience Canva proficiency + Figma is a plus Expectations This is a volunteer role; we’re asking for 3-5 hours/week max to contribute. No volunteer should be exceeding these hours without communication to their manager.
