Financial Analyst II

Job Summary The Department of Radiology is seeking a Financial Analyst II to join their Budget Team. The role provides comprehensive budget, compensation, and financial reporting support with a primary focus on overseeing complex physician compensation structures across the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and UW Health (UWH). The analyst manages budgets with multiple funding sources, supports extensive compensation tracking and documentation, and responds to frequent, time‑sensitive financial changes. Responsibilities include developing short‑ and long‑term budget projections, conducting detailed financial analyses, preparing complex reports, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements. Additional Information Work may be performed in‑person on campus or remotely from an offsite location. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and skill at managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines are preferred. Key Responsibilities Lead the development, maintenance, and monitoring of automated financial information systems and budgets, and disseminate updates and results to leadership. Instruct, train, and provide feedback to departmental financial staff, and advise on best practices. Establish vision and tactical approaches for essential tasks and develop strategic approaches to achieve goals. Use statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, or other methods to analyze information and develop solutions to business problems. Recommend and/or approve general ledger entries in accordance with GAAP; lead general ledger reconciliations and complex account analysis. Lead the development and implementation of financial processes, including timelines, reports, and recommendations for improvement. Possibly lead other financial staff. Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and schedules with compiled financial data from multiple reporting systems. Required Qualifications At least 3 years of experience creating financial reports, analyzing financial data, developing forecasts and budgets, and using data to identify trends and make business recommendations. Preferred Qualifications Experience with data analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, or closely related areas. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar field. Compensation The starting salary for the position is $81,906, which is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
