Registered Nurse 1

The Registered Nurse 1 will coordinate, direct and provide professional nursing care to residents of the Nursing Home under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Administrator.

• Maintaining a current and valid license and/or registration is a condition of employment; failure to do so will result in removal from the position.
• In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists. Should an appointee be subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists, employment may be terminated.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Candidates must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
• Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health Veterans Home at Montrose employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18.
• Transfer: Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in a position eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, to a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18.
• Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate would have experience in a Long-Term Care setting with a geriatric population.

Additional Comments:

• *Salary reflects the contractual salary range at step 4 and a geographic pay differential of $35,000 and downstate adjustment of $4,000 for New York City, Westchester, and Suffolk counties. Salary also includes shift differential for evening and night shift and $575.00 inconvenience pay.
