Conventus is seeking a Managing Director, Data & Technology to serve as the senior architect of our entire technology function. Reporting to the COO, this executive will own the full scope of our technology landscape - from data strategy and infrastructure to cybersecurity and team building at a pivotal moment in our growth. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with deep technical roots and the strategic instincts to build a modern, scalable tech stack in a lean, high‑velocity environment. This is a rare opportunity to shape the technology foundation of a fintech disruptor redefining the real estate bridge loan market from the ground up.WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
First 90 Days Conduct a full audit of existing technology systems, vendors, and data infrastructure Build trusted relationships with leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders Deliver a prioritized technology roadmap aligned with near‑term business objectives First Year Stand up a scalable, integrated technology stack including CRM, LOS, and servicing platforms Establish data governance, security policies, and compliance frameworks Hire and onboard data and technology team members Enable data‑driven decision‑making across the organizationKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with company goals Establish data governance practices to maintain data integrity, quality, and accessibility Oversee data architecture, storage solutions, and pipeline design to support business intelligence and analytics needs Evaluate, select, and implement a technology stack to support current and future business needs, including CRM, LOS, and servicing software Select scalable, cost‑effective solutions that improve efficiency and support organizational growth Ensure seamless integration across all platforms and third‑party tools 3. IT Infrastructure Management Manage IT infrastructure including network, hardware, and software, ensuring optimal performance and reliability Oversee IT support to maintain high availability of technology resources across departments Plan and execute IT upgrades, migrations, and maintenance to keep pace with technological advances 4. Cybersecurity & Data Protection Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies to protect company data and systems Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify vulnerabilities Lead incident response efforts in the event of a breach, coordinating with internal and external teams 5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with origination, credit, operations, finance and servicing teams to understand their data and technology needs Collaborate with product and operations to align technology initiatives with business objectives Champion data‑driven decision‑making by providing analytics tools, insights, and training Build and lead a team of data engineers, IT support specialists, and cybersecurity professionals Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and accountability Mentor team members to cultivate a high performing, engaged, and capable organizationQUALIFICATIONS
Required 12+ years of experience in data management, IT, or technology leadership roles Proven track record building and executing data and technology strategies at scale Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable language for executive and non‑technical audiences. Strong background in IT infrastructure management, cloud platforms, and data warehousing Expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, threat management, and incident response Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain high‑performing teams Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field Preferred Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline Experience in real estate finance, bridge lending, mortgage technology, or capital markets Familiarity with lending platforms such as Salesforce, nCino, Encompass, or Blooma Prior experience in a high‑growth, build‑from‑scratch technology environment Background in regulatory compliance and data protection standardsBENEFITS
