Pension Actuary

Pension ActuaryOur client is seeking an experienced Pension Actuary to provide immediate support for pension valuation, benefit calculation, and plan administration activities. This individual will serve primarily as a reviewer of actuarial work and will help the team meet critical pension compliance and reporting deadlines.The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in pension actuarial consulting and capable of working independently with minimal training.Key ResponsibilitiesReview pension valuation reports for accuracy and compliance.Perform actuarial review of benefit calculations, including complex retirement scenarios.Support pension administration and plan valuation activities.Validate and approve work completed by retirement specialists and other team members.Assist with Form 5500 and annual funding notice deliverables.Partner with actuarial staff to address workload demands and deadline-driven priorities.Navigate internal systems and processes following a brief onboarding period.Communicate findings, recommendations, and review feedback to the actuarial team.Required Qualifications5+ years of direct pension actuarial experience.Proven experience performing pension valuation work.Experience reviewing and approving actuarial calculations and deliverables.Strong understanding of defined benefit pension plans and pension administration.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Prior experience in a pension consulting, pension administration, or retirement services environment.Demonstrated experience reviewing benefit calculations and valuation reports.Preferred QualificationsASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries).EA (Enrolled Actuary).FSA credentials are a plus.Candidates without credentials may be considered if they possess significant pension actuarial experience.Prior reviewer or lead actuarial experience preferred.Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
