About the Position

Ideal candidates will work in a team-based unit. Experience with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and multiple births is essential. Candidates should have knowledge of postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:2. The unit has 16 labor and delivery beds with an average daily census of 15. Epic is the required charting system. Scrub colors are provided by the facility. Maximum time off is 7 days. There are blackout dates during the spring break week. Weekend shifts include three weekend shifts per contract. Call requirements include two calls every six weeks. Travelers are expected to work major holidays as needed. Full compliance is required to start on time. Travelers must submit all required documentation within specified timeframes. Candidates are expected to have experience in patient care, especially in high-risk settings. Skills in various procedures related to labor and delivery are required. Nurses will support and assist during labor, including high-risk deliveries. Ability to manage and assess various patient needs related to labor and delivery is essential. Interdisciplinary support includes services such as pharmacy and physical therapy. The unit caters to a diverse patient population. The average number of facility births per month is between 200-300.
