Associate Attorney

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established Texas litigation firm seeking an experienced Civil litigator preferably with Insurance defense to join its Dallas office. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 -5 years of litigation experience , with a background in insurance defense and exposure to matters involving personal injury, product liability, and premises liability.

This opportunity is well suited for a motivated attorney who is interested in building a long-term career within a sophisticated civil litigation practice. The attorney will have meaningful responsibility throughout the litigation lifecycle, from initial case assessment and discovery through depositions, settlement negotiations, and resolution.
Key Responsibilities

• Assess cases involving liability, damages, and potential exposure.
• Manage matters from intake through resolution.
• Prepare for and attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and settlement conferences.
• Draft, serve, and respond to discovery requests and other litigation documents.
• Conduct depositions and assist with witness preparation.
• Perform substantive legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, claims professionals, experts, and other parties.
• Manage client reporting, billing, budgeting, and case management requirements.
• Monitor case deadlines and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local rules.
• Meet or exceed established monthly billable-hour requirements.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff while independently managing assigned matters.
• Travel occasionally as required for hearings, depositions, trials, and other case-related activities.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Texas.
• 3+ years of litigation experience , preferably in civil litigation or insurance defense.
• Experience with personal injury, product liability, premises liability, or related insurance defense matters is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of applicable substantive and procedural law, including federal and state court rules.
• Excellent legal research, writing, briefing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong negotiation and analytical abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel .
