Assistant Teaching Professor – 2 Positions Position ID: FCSM-3923L Department: Mathematics, The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics, Towson University Position Two full-time, non-tenure track, 9‑month teaching assistant professorships in the Department of Mathematics. Preferred beginning date: August 2026. Qualifications Master’s or doctoral degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or equivalent. Commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching. Preferred: prior experience teaching Introductory Statistics or Basic and Intermediate Algebra. Responsibilities The instructional workload is 24 contact hours per year; typical courses are 3 or 4 contact hours. The role includes departmental service such as course coordination or responsibility for an ongoing departmental initiative. Teaching faculty are expected to demonstrate ongoing professional development through scholarly endeavors or engagement with the college teaching community. Specific Department Needs One position focuses primarily on instruction and coordination of Introductory Statistics courses. Another position focuses on instruction and course development in Basic and Intermediate Algebra courses.
