Local Dispatcher

The Local Dispatcher is responsible for assigning daily dispatch loads to drivers while working closely with our sales teams on daily dispatch needs. This position is supervising drivers to coordinate all needs. Excellent time management, communication and organizational skills are essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Constant communication with the sales team and the customers
• Organizing and prioritizing workflow to deliveries
• Manage and coordinate daily orders to appropriate Drivers
• Routing drivers based on delivery date, jobsite accessibility, and load type.
• Manage driver hours based on the workload.
• Conduct employee performance reviews including 30,60,90 day evaluations and annual reviews.
• Approve and manage driver timecards for accuracy and payroll processing
• Review and approve employee time off requests
• Provide coaching, feedback and corrective actions when necessary

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in dispatch, preferably in the lumber or building materials environment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Phone etiquette and should be able to work under stressful conditions.
• Excellent time management skills
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance
• Exceptional attendance
