Position Overview: The Digital Marketing Assistant supports the planning, execution, and management of digital marketing initiatives across email, social media, and other digital channels on behalf of association clients. This role assists with content planning, calendar management, social media publishing, campaign execution, performance monitoring, and maintaining digital assets to ensure marketing initiatives are delivered accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow their digital marketing skills in a fast-paced, multi-client environment. Key Responsibilities: Support the planning and execution of digital marketing initiatives across organic and paid social media, email marketing, and digital advertising campaigns, assisting with content calendars, campaign timelines, and audience targeting. Draft, schedule, and post content for organic social media channels, ensuring alignment with brand voice, messaging guidelines, and posting cadence. Support email marketing efforts by building campaigns, managing distribution lists, and testing subject lines, layouts, and calls to action. Track performance metrics across social media, email, and digital advertising channels, compiling data into regular reports for team review. Support website updates and maintenance, including publishing new pages, updating existing content, and troubleshooting basic functionality issues. Conduct routine website audits to identify outdated content, broken links, or formatting inconsistencies. Update and maintain digital content and assets across websites, email marketing platforms, and SharePoint, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and version control. Organize and archive digital assets (images, templates, copy documents) in an accessible and well-labeled manner across shared platforms. Qualifications: Education Requirements: Enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor's degree program in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field. Experience Requirements: Previous internship, volunteer, campus organization, freelance, or academic project experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or related field. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Familiarity with major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X) and best practices for content publishing and engagement. Basic knowledge of digital marketing concepts. Experience with or willingness to learn email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact), content management systems (CMS), and social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Familiarity with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign) is preferred. Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively. Eagerness to learn new technologies and digital marketing tools. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Physical Demands & Working Environment: This is a remote position, travel is not required. This role primarily involves desk-based work using a computer and standard office equipment. Interns must be able to sit or stand (based on preference) for extended periods, type and use a mouse, view a computer screen, and participate in virtual meetings. Occasionally, light lifting of items like laptops or small office supplies (up to 15 pounds) may be required.
