2nd and 3rd Shift Resident Care Manager

Position Title: 2nd/3rd Resident Care Manager OT Status: Exempt Reports to: Director of Resident Care Direct Reports: MCG’s, PCG’s and Supervisors Responsibilities Staff evaluations – annually for 2nd/3rd shift employees. FT Supervisors assist with staff that work their shift. Manager oversees the process and ensures all employees are evaluated. Overseeing processes – ensure all staff are trained properly. MCG – all staff comfortable with assigned job duties. PCG – all staff comfortable with assigned job duties. 3rd Shift – assign set tasks and ensure they are followed. Develop Supervisors for all shifts. Keep employees on task/updating a task list to ensure productivity. Building appearance Nursing stations – professional, functional, organized. Storage rooms – supplies put away in labeled areas, clean and tidy (supervisor assists). Resident rooms – daily checks: rooms picked up, extra cups/newspapers, beds made properly, bathrooms/toilets clean. Equipment checks B/P cuffs – good condition, dial calibrated. Med carts – delegate cleaning/expiration, follow through. Thermometers – ensure working. Computers – staff plug in, no cell phones or food/beverages near; staff charge in hallways. Whirlpools/showers – cleaned/sanitized post bath/shower. Sit-to-stands – cleaned/sanitized, functional. Scales – calibrated, level to zero; inform Director if repair needed. Regular meetings with staff and staff meetings with Supervisors. Overseeing scheduling needs – ensure staff placed on skill set, always an FT employee per shift, appropriate female-to-male ratio (female per shift), appropriate staff numbers. Monitor overtime. Staffing Ensure building and staff well before departing; inform lead staff of departure. Monitor staff/resident ratio; update Director if changes needed. Create ratio chart for staff/resident per building and shift. Take charge/claim authority with staff, set clear expectations and boundaries. Interview and hire for MCG and PCG. Working with other departments HR – update staffing concerns/write‑ups. Maintenance – follow up on building concerns. Documenting any staff/family conversations that could lead to future issues. State licensing – stay current on rules, educate staff, enforce guidelines (incident reports, elopement, med orders) with updates to Clinical Specialist, Support and Director. Availability – on call day and night, accessible by phone; communicate concerns with Director. Respond to emails timely; check email > once a day. Manager vacations – if Director approved, ensure tasks handled and coverage assigned, else manage via phone/email. Park Village Pines policies – adhere to all work policies, uphold HIPAA, avoid discussing residents with other departments. Be available for weekends and holidays as needed. Job Requirements for Scheduling Manage schedules for all three buildings on 2nd and 3rd shifts per template. Fill open needs on schedule (Supervisor’s assist). Provide regular updates on call‑ins and schedule to Director. Monitor overtime and alert Director when staff near OT hours. Ensure all shifts covered before ending day. Assist Director with staff meetings. Maintain Paylocity schedules. Ensure an FT employee per shift. Maintain appropriate female-to-male ratio (female per shift). Work weekends and holidays as needed. Schedule staff training (MCG and PCG reviews). Keep most current schedule. Discuss scheduling concerns with staff. Update scheduling template with Director for staffing changes. Create and maintain holiday schedule. Verify hours for payroll, approve PTO. Physical Requirements Lift and carry light objects (charts, thermometers, basins, care items). Lift, push/pull 50 lbs+; assist residents to/from rooms. Stand or walk up to 90% of an eight‑hour shift. Reach overhead occasionally to obtain items from shelves/closets. Wear gloves and other protective equipment. Hearing, seeing, reading to comprehend directions, identify residents, emergency alarms, equipment use. Attention span to complete required tasks. Environmental Conditions 100% workday indoors; occasionally accompany resident outdoors in good weather. Occasional exposure to blood/bodily fluids. Frequent exposure to bacteria, viruses, other infectious agents from residents, co‑workers, family, public. Perform other reasonable duties assigned by Director and management. Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals (soap, disinfectants). Frequent exposure to latex, vinyl, plastic, or personal protective equipment materials. Frequent risk of injuries from unpredictable resident behavior. Push approximately 100‑pound cart 392 feet on carpeted floor. #J-18808-Ljbffr
