Retail Pharmacy Manager

Inpatient experience within the last three years required. Under the direction of the Pharmaceutical Services Director, the Retail Pharmacy Manager is responsible for all areas of retail pharmaceutical services for MMC including the procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of drugs by appropriate staff. The Retail Pharmacy Manager ensures that pharmacy services of MMC are in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Specific competencies include compounding and dispensing prescribed medications, reviewing prescriptions, directing pharmacy workers, answering questions about pharmaceuticals, engaging patients in customer service programs, maintaining quality assurance procedures, entering data, instructing interns, maintaining awareness of third party Rx systems, reporting prescription errors, managing loss prevention controls, developing relationships with healthcare professionals, synthesizing complex information, managing customer situations, maximizing sales, ensuring currency of pharmacy policies, reading and interpreting written information, contributing to team spirit, communicating changes effectively, understanding business implications, observing safety and security procedures, and other duties as assigned.
