Activity Therapist PRN- Adult Inpatient

The Activity Specialist is considered one of Ibis Healthcare's advanced professionals that will provide direct therapeutic services to identified mental health and substance abuse clients. The therapist will be responsible for maintaining patient care in accordance with program guidelines and external standards (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.). The therapist will provide clinical services to the following populations: individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. In-office work environment within an adult crisis stabilization unit. PRN(As Need) 24/7 Adult Inpatient Crisis Stabilization Unit

QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in a Human Services-related discipline and at least 1 year of experience in the behavioral health field. State of Florida registered interns with clear/active status preferred. Bilingual (English-Spanish) is preferred to serve a diverse patient population, however not required. Computer proficient in various Microsoft applications (Word, Excel), and Electronic Medical Records is helpful. May provide clinical oversight in a multidisciplinary team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct thorough assessments and develop service plans, treatment plans, and discharge plans. Facilitate process, psych-educational, recreational, and other clinical groups daily. Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions with adults, children, and families in an outpatient, acute care, inpatient, or community setting. Accurate and timely documentation of clinical and administrative services in accordance with program guidelines and external standards (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.). Meets productivity requirements for the designated program through efficient workflow management. Maintains cooperative relationships with other internal departments and external agencies and keeps the supervisor informed at all times of all relevant client, program, and community issues Understands the basic tenets of Co-Occurring disorders and the relationship between mental health and substance abuse. The therapist will also demonstrate knowledge of the age-specific needs of the clients treated in the program. Other duties as assigned or needed as per program requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, the ability to hear, the ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to complete standing presentations involving speaking and listening to the audience.
