Staff Accountant Costpoint ~ Bethesda, MD hybrid

My client is seeking a Staff Accountant with Costpoint experience. The government contractor is located just outside Washington, D.C. specializes in providing IT services for Federal Agencies and state governments. Due to the awarding a multi-million-dollar contract they have a need for a new Staff Accountant to managing billing operations and operational accounting. This Staff Accountant opportunity will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for government invoicing, T&M, CPP, indirect labor cost, and project set-up. Staff Accountant candidates must have experience in preparing Federal Government invoices for a Government Contractor and be proficient in Costpoint. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Review government and commercial contractual documents and collaborate
with Program Managers to ensure accuracy of contract line items, project labor
categories, subcontracting, line item ceilings, service contract act requirements,
and billing and invoicing provisions for various contract types (CPFF, T&M,
FFP, and LOE)
- All Project Set-up for contracts and maintenance
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for project set-up,
work with project managers to ensure adherence to those SOPs, and ensure
that the processes within and pertaining to project setup remain compliant
- Monitor contract funding and invoices for all contracts
- Work with project managers to ensure accuracy of employee labor postings
- Ensure that project costs are recorded in accordance with FAR and CAS
- Responsible for monthly reconciling of billed/unbilled compared to revenue

Requirements:
BS/BA degree
3 + year experience in billing and accounts receivable within the government contracting industry
Deltek Costpoint
Proficient in MS Excel, strong understanding of debits/credits
$50k - $80k
