Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Job

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide quality respiratory care at a hospital in Battle Creek, MI. The RRT will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment for patients with breathing disorders, operate and monitor ventilatory equipment, perform airway management and suctioning, assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement, conduct pulmonary function testing, perform arterial puncture and blood gas assessment, and document treatments and patient responses according to policy. The clinician will provide patient education, participate in shift-to-shift handoffs, and assist with equipment maintenance and quality processes.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Minimum one year experience as an RRT in an acute care or hospital setting.
• BLS certification.
• Experience with mechanical ventilators, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, oxygen delivery systems, nebulizers, and suctioning techniques.
• Experience performing arterial puncture and interpreting blood gases.
• Ability to perform tracheostomy care, endotracheal tube insertion/removal, and assist with bronchoscopy and chest tube management.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification preferred.
• Prior experience in moderate to high acuity hospital settings or with cardiopulmonary resuscitation protocols.
• Experience performing pulmonary function studies and 12-lead EKGs.

Assignment Details

• Night shift pattern: 3x12.
