Key Responsibilities

• Handle a diverse caseload of medical malpractice defense cases from inception through resolution.
• Represent healthcare professionals and institutions in complex litigation, including trials, depositions, and mediations.
• Conduct thorough legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
• Manage all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Represent clients in court, presenting arguments and evidence persuasively to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates, legal advice, and strategic guidance.
• Work closely with a team of skilled attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies and ensure the best possible defense.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) 
• Licensed to practice in the state of IL
• 3+ years of experience in medical malpractice - defense
• Strong skills in legal research and writing
• Experience in litigation and trial preparation
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to analyze complex medical records and evidence
• Familiarity with insurance defense and professional liability cases

• Base ($135,000-$150,000) + 10-28% Bonus
• Billable Target - 1,900 hours
