Sterile Processing Technician

Schedule

3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 40 hours guaranteed per week.

Job Description

Under direct supervision, the Sterile Processing Technician cares for, handles, and stores instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for surgery, as well as processed goods for redistribution throughout the Medical Center. The technician also assists Sterile Processing Specialists with various team lead duties, including maintaining competencies.

Responsibilities

• Caring for and handling surgical instruments and supplies.
• Ensuring proper storage and redistribution of processed goods.
• Assisting with team lead duties as directed by Sterile Processing Specialists.
• Maintaining competencies and skills necessary for effective performance in the role.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 24 months of current experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
• Active HSPA certification for at least 2 years.
• COVID-19 vaccination is required; declinations not accepted.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Previous travel experience is preferred.
• One supervisory reference from the last 6 months and one from the last 12 months.
