Systems Engineer

Cimarron is seeking a System Engineer to support the Boeing's CST-100 Starliner spacecraft as a part of NASA's Commercial Crew Program. This position is 100% onsite located in Houston, TX.

Key Duties:

• Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
• Perform verification and validation of system requirements with the proper flow down and traceability for the system, hardware, and software components executing the scope of validation or regression activities required for recertification.
• Support and review regression testing, test plans, procedures, schedules, and documentation preparation to support verification, validation, certification, and transition.
• Support analysis and preparation of test results to verify and validate design and performance to meet government, regulatory, customer, and program compliance requirements.
• Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify the basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.

• Support analyses for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
• Support the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of the requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes.
• Maintain digital system models using SysML and other modeling languages such as CAMEO to represent complex systems.
• Ensure system models are accurate, compliant with standards, and support engineering tasks such as analysis and decision-making.
• Capture and maintain traceability of system requirements within the architecture model, linking to relevant design artifacts.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at the time.
• Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
• This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing.
• This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. • 10 or more years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience in systems engineering, including system architecture, requirements/interface development and allocation, verification and validation, integration and test, system trades, and risk management.
• Experience reviewing test plans and reports.
• Experience applying model-based approaches on engineering projects and integrating models into architecture and digital engineering platforms.
• Bachelors degree in relevant field.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
• Ability to provide technical and programmatic recommendations on the development, integration, and application of digital engineering and MBSE concepts.
