Director, Global Tax Accounting About the Opportunity Join a leading global consumer brand with a significant international footprint and a highly sophisticated finance organization. This role offers the opportunity to lead a global tax accounting function , partnering closely with executive leadership and influencing key financial and strategic decisions. The organization is seeking a Director of Global Tax Accounting to oversee tax provision, reporting, and controls on a global scale. This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, enhancing tax processes, and developing a high-performing team. The Role Reporting to senior tax leadership, this position will lead all aspects of global tax accounting and reporting , ensuring compliance with ASC 740 and SOX requirements while delivering strategic insights to executive stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Global Tax Provision & Reporting Lead preparation of global income tax provision, including quarterly and year-end reporting under ASC 740 Oversee deferred taxes, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, and effective tax rate (ETR) calculations Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements Executive Communication & Insights Present tax results and key drivers to senior finance leadership, including executive stakeholders Translate complex tax and financial data into clear, actionable insights Leverage analytics and technology to enhance decision-making Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with global tax teams across compliance, planning, and controversy functions Provide guidance on tax accounting implications of transactions and business initiatives Build strong relationships with finance, auditors, and external advisors Controls & Governance Oversee SOX 404 compliance and internal controls related to tax accounting Ensure robust processes and documentation across global operations Process Improvement & Technology Drive automation and process enhancements across the tax accounting function Support implementation and optimization of tax technology solutions Champion scalable, efficient processes aligned with best practices Team Leadership & Development Lead and mentor a global tax accounting team Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, innovation, and professional growth Develop talent and succession pipelines within the tax function Technical Leadership Monitor changes in ASC 740, SEC reporting, and other regulatory requirements Provide technical oversight and review on complex tax accounting matters Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 10+ years of global tax experience across public accounting and/or multinational corporate environments 5+ years of experience in tax accounting (ASC 740) 2+ years of leadership experience at the director level or equivalent Extensive experience with U.S. GAAP tax reporting for multinational organizations Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams Preferred: Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax CPA or equivalent certification Experience with enterprise tax provision systems (e.g., OneSource or similar) Familiarity with data analytics and automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) Skills & Attributes Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex topics simply Highly analytical with the ability to derive insights from complex data sets Strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Collaborative leader with strong stakeholder management skills Why This Role Lead a global tax accounting function at scale High visibility with executive leadership (including CFO-level stakeholders) Opportunity to drive transformation, automation, and process improvement Influence strategic decisions through tax insights and analytics Lead and shape a world-class tax team within a global organization Equal Opportunity The hiring organization is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
