Optomi, in partnership with a leading technology innovator, is seeking a Junior AI Engineer for an exciting opportunity in Jersey City, NJ! This role is ideal for a software engineer with a strong Python development background and hands-on experience building LLM applications, including prompting, tool calling, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). The right candidate will work on innovative projects involving embeddings, vector search, and retrieval pipelines while leveraging OpenTelemetry to enhance application observability. Experience of the right candidate:

• 3+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with LLM applications (prompting, tool calling, RAG).
• Knowledge of embeddings/vector search.
• Familiarity with retrieval pipelines and evaluations.
• Understanding of OpenTelemetry.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

• Develop and optimize retrieval pipelines.
• Implement and evaluate embeddings and vector search methodologies.
