Supervisor - Pharmacy - WCMC Pharmacy - Full Time - 8 Hour - Variable Shift

Inpatient Pharmacy Supervisor Provides frontline leadership and operational oversight for pharmacy services within an assigned shift, unit, or functional area, including inpatient dispensing, sterile compounding, and decentralized clinical services. Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and cost-effective medication management in compliance with state and federal pharmacy law, USP / standards, and hospital policy. Coordinates daily workflow, supervises pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, supports quality and medication‑safety initiatives, and serves as a key liaison between staff and pharmacy department leadership. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and monitor daily pharmacy workflow in assigned unit. Supervise pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, coaching and developing staff. Support quality and medication‑safety initiatives. Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy law, USP standards, and hospital policy. Act as liaison between pharmacy staff and department leadership. Qualifications and Experience Education: Doctoral Degree from a School of Pharmacy accredited by ACPE. Required Experience: 5 years in an Acute Care Hospital Pharmacy and experience with Epic EHR. Preferred Experience: USP / sterile compounding oversight, 1 year of supervisory experience, prior lead or charge role, ASHP PGY1 residency. Licensure and Certifications Registered Pharmacist – California Board of Pharmacy. Pharmacist BPS Board certification. Preferred certifications: USP compounding oversight, ASHP PGY1 residency. Core Skills In‑depth knowledge of California and federal pharmacy law, DEA regulations, and USP compounding standards. Ability to supervise, coach, and develop pharmacy staff in a fast‑paced clinical environment. Strong clinical judgment and capability to manage competing priorities and respond to urgent situations. Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, automated dispensing technology, and standard office software. Ability to work all shifts, including weekends. Work Shift and Compensation Work Shift: Exempt – Days (Monday‑Friday). Scheduled weekly hours: 40 hours. Pay Range: $99.60 – $149.39 per hour, based on experience and licensure. Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area. Positions are listed hourly for compensation purposes, but the work shift contains the word “exempt” on it.
