UX Designer

Job Summary:

Zymo Research is seeking a thoughtful and strategic UX Designer to join our growing Design Team on a temporary to hire basis. This role goes beyond visual design-you'll play a central role in shaping how users engage with our digital platforms by architecting intuitive, goal-driven user experiences. You'll create intuitive user journeys, informed by research, data, and business priorities. Your work will directly impact product adoption, customer satisfaction, and brand perception on a global scale.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• User-Centric Design:
• Drive and execute the user experience and interface design for product suite, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user journey.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketers and developers, to translate business requirements into compelling design solutions.
• Research and Analysis:
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitor analysis to inform design decisions.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design
• Wireframing and Prototyping:
• Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts and user interactions effectively.
• Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders and usability testing.
• Visual Design:
• Develop visually appealing and on-brand interfaces that enhance the overall user experience.
• Create high-fidelity mockups and design assets for implementation.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with development teams to ensure the feasibility of design solutions and provide necessary support during implementation.
• Collaborate with marketers, department leaders, and internal stakeholders to align design solutions with business goals and user needs.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback and analytics to iterate and improve designs over time.
• Be adaptable and receptive to feedback from diverse teams, showing flexibility in evolving designs based on new insights, shifting priorities, or business needs.

Education and Experience:

• 3-5+ years of UX/UI experience with a portfolio showcasing user journeys, interaction design, and final interfaces.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design, accessibility standards, and responsive design principles.
• Skilled in Figma (preferred), Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent tools.
• Familiar with information architecture, navigation systems, and content strategy.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, especially when explaining design rationale to non-designers.
• Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to enable effective collaboration with developers.
• Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or related field.

Compensation:

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $35 to $50/hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
