About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer...In this role, you will:Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groupsLead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinkingTranslate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutionsProvide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutionsMaintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organizationStrategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership.Required Qualifications:7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education7+ years of Software Development experience with architecting, designing and developing solutions using cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and integration technologies7+ years of experience in public cloud services enablement, implementing controls and policies through Terraform7+ years of leading engineering of complex cloud solutions using at least to cloud providers (AWS, Google, or Azure).Desired Qualifications:7+years of progressive experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-scale software solutions in cloud-native environmentsStrong hands-on experience with at least two major cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Demonstrated expertise developing production-grade applications using multiple modern programming languages such as: C#, Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go (Golang)Rust (preferred for select high-performance workloads)Deep understanding of cloud architecture patterns including microservices, event-driven systems, serverless computing, containerized workloads, and distributed systemsProven experience designing, building, deploying, and operating applications across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, or PulumiExperience building scalable, highly available, secure, and resilient enterprise applicationsProficiency with API design, integration patterns, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and microservices architecturesStrong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, performance optimization, observability, monitoring, and troubleshootingExperience implementing secure development practices, including application security, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirementsProven ability to establish engineering standards, development processes, coding best practices, and architectural governanceExperience mentoring and technically leading engineering teams while driving architectural decisions and technical strategyExcellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams and organizationsDemonstrated track record of leading complex technical initiatives from concept through production deployment and ongoing operational supportExperience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar platforms.Job Expectations: This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.Telecommuting is not available; this is a hybrid role.Relocation assistance is not provided.Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location.
