WELDER/FITTER

Pay: $25–$28/hr DOE

Shift: AM Shift / PM Shift

Location: Conroe, TX

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter to join a busy fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will have experience fitting, assembling, and welding miscellaneous and structural metal components. Must be able to read basic shop drawings and accurately measure, fit, and fabricate materials.

Key Responsibilities

Read and understand basic shop drawings, measurements, and fabrication details.

Fit, assemble, and fabricate miscellaneous metal components.

Perform MIG welding and other welding duties as required.

Cut, grind, drill, tack, weld, and finish steel and metal components.

Measure and mark materials accurately using tape measures, squares, levels, and other shop tools.

Fabricate railings, stairs, frames, supports, structural steel, miscellaneous steel, and architectural metal components.

Set up and align parts before welding to ensure proper dimensions and fit.

Safely operate common fabrication equipment and power tools.

Assist welders and fabricators with material preparation and assembly.

Perform grinding, cleaning, deburring, and finishing of fabricated pieces.

Load, unload, move, and organize materials throughout the shop.

Identify fabrication issues and report incorrect dimensions, materials, or drawings to the supervisor.

Requirements

Previous experience in metal fabrication, fitting, welding, or structural/miscellaneous steel work preferred.

Ability to read and understand basic shop drawings.

Strong measuring and fitting skills.

Ability to lift and handle fabrication materials.

Ability to work in an active industrial shop environment.

Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.

Forklift experience, welding certification, or fabrication equipment experience is a plus.
