About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Telemetry Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of MS-Tele experience - Preferred prior neuro experience Description: Candidates will be required to float throughout a designated zone. The traveler is responsible for securing housing within a feasible distance for floating. Orientation consists of a week of training that may be delivered remotely. Travelers must float within a specified radius. Scheduling is released 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Weekend shifts range from 6 to 9 in a 6-week schedule. Holiday rotation may be required. Charge nurses are designated on each unit and do not typically take patient assignments unless necessary. Nurse aids are available on the unit. Patient ratios are generally 1:5-6 based on acuity. Common patients include adults and geriatrics with various conditions such as cardiac, neuro, orthopedics, oncology, and more. Travelers must be flexible and assist with filling scheduling gaps. Shifts are scheduled by leadership and do not allow self-scheduling. Rarely, on-call or standby may be required. Assignments are communicated ahead of time, including any potential floats. Nurses may be asked to take low acuity holds in other acuity levels as needed. Charting will be done using a specified system.
