Role Overview: You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, executing general ledger reconciliations, maintaining fixed assets, and supporting the monthly closing process. You will report directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries, update account balances, and ensure proper classification of financial data

- Post monthly travel and sales expenses gathered from employee expense reports

- Work in collaboration with Human Resources to compile, calculate and report bi-weekly payroll to outside payroll company

- Journalize all entries related to processing of payroll

- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to assess variances and resolve discrepancies

- Assist with month and year-end close activities

- Manager, enter, reconcile, and pay all employee benefit billings

- Review, transfer funds, enter invoices and payments of all credit card charges

- Enter and process payments for certain key vendors (credit card accounts, payroll garnishments, other nontypical invoices)

- Assume ownership of employee expense report process and make sure it flows properly

- Assume ownership of fixed asset process and work with facilities manager to maintain monthly

- Prepare and distribute various financial reports as needed (Sales reports, Employee Credit Card Charges, A/R and A/P reports)

- Support A/P and A/R and other accounting and administrative tasks as needed

- Assist as backup to front office tasks when needed (vacations and absences)

- Work closely with Controller and other key personnel on any special accounting projects as needed

- Assist with creating and revising all accounting policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Degree or proven, relevant accounting experience with all aspects of AR/AP and general accounting responsibilities

- Minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role required; prior experience with SAP Business One software preferred

- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail an absolute must

- Proven Microsoft office experience (word, excel, and outlook specifically)

- Superb time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a collaborative and fast-paced environment

- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

- Teachable, desire and ability to learn new tasks quickly

- Commitment to honesty, trustworthiness, and high ethical standards

- Able to work in an environment with constantly changing priorities and deadlines

Expected Scheduling: Weekdays, 8am-4:30pm (occasional overtime)
