Scientist I - Analytical Chemistry

AbbVie seeks an analytical chemistry scientist to support late-phase development of peptide drug substances. The role involves method development, validation, and troubleshooting, requiring expertise in peptide analysis, chromatography, and mass spectrometry with cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Independently plan, develop, validate, and execute analytical methods with result assessment
- Troubleshoot technical and scientific issues independently and evaluate new technologies
- Document experimental activities in electronic data systems and prepare protocols and regulatory documents
- Present results and actively engage with local and global cross-functional teams
- Maintain compliance with corporate standards, safety protocols, and GxP requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Chemistry/Chemical Biology with 5+ years experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years
- Practical knowledge of peptide manufacturing processes
- Proficiency with HPLC, GC, IC chromatography and mass spectrometry
- Experience in peptide analytical techniques including amino acid analysis and higher-order structure studies
- Understanding of cGMP and regulatory requirements
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in fast-paced environments
