Nurse Supervisor

The Nurse Supervisor is a dynamic clinical leadership position responsible for guiding nursing operations during the assigned shift while ensuring the delivery of exceptional, person-centered healthcare services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role provides direct supervision, coaching, and support to Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and DSP Medication Technicians, fostering a collaborative culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.

As a key member of the nursing leadership team, the Nurse Supervisor serves as the clinical resource and decision-maker for the shift, promoting high standards of nursing practice, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and compassionate care. What You'll Do

As a Nurse Supervisor, you'll lead and inspire nursing and AMAP staff to deliver high-quality, person-centered care. You'll serve as a mentor, clinical expert, and decision-maker-fostering excellence in care and promoting a collaborative, supportive work environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and supervise nursing operations during the day shift (10AM - 6PM).
• Provide clinical leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance oversight to RNs, LPNs, AMAP Medication Technicians, and Direct Support Professionals.
• Oversee the clinical practice of AMAP Medication Technicians, ensuring medication administration practices comply with OPWDD regulations, Agency policies, and New York State requirements. Provide education, coaching, and corrective guidance as needed.
• Ensure high-quality, person-centered nursing care that meets Agency, OPWDD, DOH, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, residential leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive healthcare services.
• Monitor clinical documentation, medication administration, health assessments, physician orders, and care plans for quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Support investigations, incident follow-up, infection prevention, quality improvement initiatives, and survey readiness.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Assist with staffing coordination, clinical decision-making, operational problem-solving, and after-hours clinical support as needed.

What You Bring

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Active NYS RN license (Required)
• 3+ years of nursing experience (Pediatrics or Med/Surg a plus)
• 2+ years of supervisory experience (Required)
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities (Preferred)
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
