Academic General Anesthesiologist — Teaching & Research

Overview The Department of Anesthesiology at Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School, seeks to recruit a qualified General Anesthesiologist for a full‑time, Assistant Professor, Non‑Tenure‑Track position. Duties include on‑site anesthesia services to adult patients at University Hospital; intraoperative and didactic teaching of residents and other educational activities; participation in faculty development programs; collaboration with surgical staff both clinically and administratively; and research that advances the discipline academically and clinically. Responsibilities Provide on‑site anesthesia services to adult patients at University Hospital, including Main Operating Rooms, Same‑Day‑Surgery ORs, and other designated locations. Deliver intraoperative and didactic teaching to residents and other educational activities that forward division and institutional goals. Participate in departmental, institutional, and divisional initiatives and activities. Engage in faculty development and skill/knowledge acquisition activities. Promote and conduct research that advances the discipline both academically and clinically. Complete all medical records in accordance with NJMS and hospital policies, ensuring submission within 7 days of the date of service. Submit all charge documentation within 14 days of the date of service. Prepare Medicare time studies and other required documents for documentation of services under Medicare and other programs. Perform related duties as assigned by the Department Chair. Qualifications Medical doctorate (MD) or equivalent degree. Current or eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey. Board Certified or Board Eligible anesthesiologist (BC/BE). H1B visa holders are welcome to apply. Strong clinical experience in adult anesthesia services.
