Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical unit serving an adult and geriatric population
• Manage common diagnoses including COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, sepsis, infection, and end-of-life/hospice care
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6 and operate equipment including Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps
• Document and manage patient records using Cerner EHR
• Float as needed to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units (accepting med/surg level patients)
• Work every other weekend; no call requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact State license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Proficiency with Cerner EHR
• Demonstrated IV competency
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be considered a travel candidate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience
• Strong team player with a patient advocacy mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
