Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing administrative and consultation services to human resources polices and procedures for staff employees. The Human Resources Generalist will provide guidance and assistance with recruitment, appointment and advancement, compensation and salary administration, visa procurement, payroll, training and development, and termination for staff employment. Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Human Resources, this position serves as the designated HR point of contact for each college regarding personnel action, policies, and procedures pertaining to staff.

Examples Of Duties

• Reviews and conduct an analysis of all staff personnel action forms. Ensures that actions are initiated timely for processing.

• Maintains and monitors staff personnel records for proper documents and credentials.

• Provides guidance and assistance with the staff search process including assisting with the requisition process, advertising the position, and search committee training.

• Assists and provides guidance with transition activities for new staff, such as post-offer visits, hiring and onboarding, visa procurement, and relocation.

• Oversee new staff orientation.

• Assists in the gathering, reporting, and analysis of data related to staff hiring and diversity.

• Communicate with Payroll to ensure accurate payroll processing for staff.

• Counsels Administrators and staff as needed, concerning moderate to complex work-related problems, particularly those pertaining to appointments, hiring, onboarding, and staff offer terms (i.e. salary, relocation, tenure).

• Aids and support with staff grievances.

• Aids and support with the staff promotion process.

• Conduct investigations and prepare reports on employee complaints and conflicts.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Human Resource Management; Business Administration or a closely related field; and three (3) years of directly related experience.
