Position: Maintenance Technician I Location: Milwaukee, WI Job Id: 1642 MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is seeking an experienced full-time Maintenance Technician to serve at our two campuses in Milwaukee. This position performs repair and general maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment for staff, guests, students and visitors. The primary location for this position is our North Campus, but this position will work at both locations as needed. Hiring Range: $26.97-$28.46 hourly WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 1st shift, Monday-Friday PRIMARY LOCATION: North Campus – 1530 W Center Street, Milwaukee, WI 53206 RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform repair or general maintenance work including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, and painting Prioritize and respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner Assist the Facilities Manager in proactively identifying and assessing common building-related issues Perform routine preventative maintenance and other tasks as directed QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED equivalent 3 years previous building maintenance or related experience strongly preferred Strong working knowledge of common building systems, structures, and appliances Proven experience in operating a variety of equipment, hand tools, and power tools Must be able to handle physical workload – capable of continuously standing, walking, stair climbing, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty, repetitive movement of both hands and arms, as well as frequent lifting and moving items with a maximum weight of 80 lbs. a short distance, and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Must be able to work independently, effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, contractors, students, visitors and peers Ability to help direct other maintenance and custodial staff as needed Must have a valid driver's license with good driving record Reliability, dependability, and punctuality are expected A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test EXCELLENT BENEFIT PACKAGE: Hiring range $26.97-$28.46 hourly based on qualifications and experience Excellent Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Health Savings Accounts with employer match Life and Short/Long Term Disability Insurance 401K with generous employer contribution Paid holidays and generous PTO Education assistance Free onsite parking The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is a 501 (c)3, charitable, non-profit church, Christian organization.
