The Avera Behavioral Health Adolescent & Child Unit are designed to be a structured and age-appropriate therapeutic environment for adolescents and children to learn to understand problems, use healthy coping skills and set and complete goals. Adolescent program is expanding to 40 unit; Child unit is a 14 bed unit; Adolescent Residential is an 8 bed unit; Opportunity to meet 70+ coworkers; Opportunity to change lives of both Adolescent and Children; 1 LPN for 7-8 patient ratio; Self-scheduling program. Job Summary As an LPN you will work in a structured therapeutic environment under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, licensed physician, or other healthcare provider. You will organize and direct key aspects of care, coordinate diagnostic plans, and collaborate with the health team. We welcome nurses who enjoy working with children ages 5 to 12 and adolescents ages 13 to 17 as well as their families, who have a passion for helping patients with conditions such as addiction, anxiety disorders, ADHD, depression or suicidal behavior, and who appreciate a challenging care environment that requires critical thinking. Key responsibilities include: Collecting data and conducting a focused nursing assessment of the health status of a patient. Participating with other healthcare providers in the development and modification of the patient-centered health care plan. Implementing nursing interventions within a patient-centered health care plan. Assisting in the evaluation of responses to interventions. Providing for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly. Advocating for the best interest of the patient. Communicating and collaborating with patients and members of the health care team. Assisting with health counseling and teaching. Delegating and assigning nursing interventions to implement the plan of care. Essential Qualifications Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Ability to work the hours specified. Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including visual acuity, communication, and hearing requirements.
