Medical Assistant PositionThe Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by ensuring the smooth operation of clinical and administrative tasks within a medical facility. This position involves direct patient interaction, including preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures such as phlebotomy and specimen collection. The Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean and sterile environment by properly sterilizing medical instruments and managing specimen processing. Additionally, this role requires effective communication skills to answer phones, schedule appointments, and coordinate with Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare staff. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant contributes to delivering high-quality patient care and enhancing the overall efficiency of the healthcare team.We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full Time, Medical Assistant at Hamilton Gastroenterology Group in Hamilton, NJ.Responsibilities:Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.Assist healthcare providers, including Nurse Practitioners, during medical procedures and examinations.Perform phlebotomy and draw blood samples accurately and safely.Process and label specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.Sterilize medical instruments and maintain a clean clinical environment to prevent infection.Answer phones, schedule patient appointments, and manage patient flow within the clinic.Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations.Skills:The required skills such as Medical Assisting, phlebotomy, and specimen processing are essential for performing clinical tasks accurately and safely, ensuring patient comfort and reliable diagnostic results. Proficiency with medical instruments and sterilization techniques helps maintain a hygienic environment, reducing the risk of infection. Vital signs measurement and blood draws are performed routinely to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and monitoring patient health. Strong communication skills, including answering phones and coordinating with Nurse Practitioners, facilitate efficient patient flow and effective teamwork.
