JOB DESCRIPTION

The person in the Warehouse Assistant Lead position will be responsible for accurately processing and recording all incoming and outgoing district mail. They will oversee the districts fixed asset system including tagging equipment, entering assets, training staff, and auditing asset listings for all locations. This person will also be responsible for forklift training and certification for all departments throughout the district. The Warehouse Assistant Lead is expected to work closely with the Warehouse Lead and Purchasing Manager and will assume the duties of the Warehouse Lead in their absence.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

11. OSHA certified fork-lift certification preferred. Must become certified within three months of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. Previous experience in all aspects of warehousing.
2. Forklift certification with at least 5 years of practical experience.
3. Certified Forklift trainer or certification obtained within 6 months of hire date.
4. Must uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures.
5. Must take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
6. Must attend in-service trainings or other meetings as required, as well as attend any training as directed by management.
7. Evidence of ability to assess and correct issues involving safety.
8. Evidence of ability to establish and maintain a tactful, cooperative and effective relationship with students, parents, staff, fellow employees and management.
9. Evidence of ability to approach assigned work in a professional manner, working toward the common goal of teamwork, pride in service delivery and continuous improvement.
10. Must demonstrate sufficient command of the English language to communicate verbally and in writing with students, parents, district staff members and other concerned people regarding all aspects of their job related activities.

13. Must be able to use basic computer programs to maintain records, enter timecard information and read and respond to email.
14. Physically able to do required work, which could include heave and sustained pushing, pulling, lifting and frequently moving up to 75 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs., squatting, bending, stooping, carrying, possible climbing of ladders and other functions that are physically demanding.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

1. Knowledge of US mail regulations and postal procedures.
2. Experience in the operation and maintenance of postal processing equipment.
3. Experience using fixed asset management systems.
4. Experience using shipping and receiving tracking systems.
5. Self-starter with demonstrated ability to problem solve.
6. Able to organize and prioritize to meet district needs and deadlines.
7. Able to keep accurate records.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate and maintain postal processing equipment.
2. Accurately process and record district incoming and outgoing mail following USPS guidelines.
3. Compile monthly reports of district postal costs and maintain an appropriate fund balance on account.
4. Stay current on all applicable USPS mailing rules and regulations and assist district staff with mailing options.
5. Tag and enter new district equipment into the fixed asset system, change item status as needed, and maintain system to ensure accurate accounting of district property.
6. Train and assist district FA representatives throughout the district.
7. Facilitate an annual audit of all fixed assets within the district.
8. Develop and maintain a training program for forklift certification per OSHA guidelines.
9. Provide forklift certification and ongoing training for all departments throughout the district.
10. Keep accurate forklift training records to ensure the district stays in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
11. Process, track, and record all outgoing packages.
12. Organize surplus storage and assist Purchasing Manager with the annual surplus sale preparation.
13. Communicate and collaborate with Warehouse Lead and Purchasing Manager.
14. Facilitate all recycling storage and pick up.
15. Assist warehouse lead and staff with receiving, inventory, order processing, and other duties as assigned by the purchasing manager.
16. Assume the daily duties, including directing the workforce, in the Warehouse Lead's absence.
