General Production Operator

The General Production Operator works in a blow mold facility and monitors pre-form machines, labelers, and blow mold machines to support efficient, high-quality production. This role combines hands-on machine operation, general production tasks, and quality-focused inspection work in a clean, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pre-form machines, labelers, and blow mold machines to ensure consistent and efficient operation.
• Operate production machinery and equipment safely and according to established procedures.
• Perform general production and assembly tasks to support continuous manufacturing flow.
• Assist with labeling, packaging, and filling processes to meet production requirements.
• Conduct visual and manual inspections of products to verify quality and adherence to specifications.
• Identify and report equipment issues, using mechanical aptitude to perform basic adjustments or troubleshooting as needed.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
• Use hand tools and related equipment as required for basic maintenance or production support tasks.
• Collaborate with a small team to meet production goals and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Support material handling activities, which may include operating a forklift if qualified and assigned.

Essential Skills

• Previous production experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery and equipment.
• Ability to monitor multiple machines and processes simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Capability to perform general labor and general production tasks, including packaging and inspection.
• Willingness to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety procedures consistently.
• Comfort using hand tools for basic production or maintenance tasks.
• Ability to work a 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM shift on a rotating 2-on, 2-off, 3-on, 2-off schedule.
• Strong commitment to quality, reliability, and teamwork.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Machine operation experience, including operating production or filling machines, is a strong plus.
• Forklift experience or certification is highly desirable.
• Experience in blow mold operations, labeling, or packaging environments is beneficial.
• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or general machine operating roles is an advantage.
• Familiarity with inspection processes and quality-focused production environments is helpful.
• Exposure to medical assembly, CNC operations, or other mechanically oriented roles is a plus.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean blow mold production area, working closely with a small team of approximately four individuals in the department. You will operate and monitor production machinery such as pre-form machines, labelers, and blow mold equipment, and may also work with filling machines, packaging equipment, and hand tools. The shift runs from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM on a rotating 2-on, 2-off, 3-on, 2-off schedule, providing regular extended time off within each cycle. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), creating a professional and safety-focused manufacturing environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
