Position Summary The Industrial Engineer - Retail is responsible for maintaining labor management systems and developing new labor standards and process initiatives to support overall business operation goals. This position will serve as a liaison between merchandising and operations business partners in the development of work methods for new and existing projects. The industrial engineer - retail will lead reviews of workflow methods and initiatives with the goal of enhancing labor performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage the planning and execution of store projects and recommend improvements to systems and procedures; utilize knowledge of workflow efficiencies and cost management to serve as a project manager on process improvement initiatives for retail operations and labor management; Analyze and evaluate performance of incentive programs, established standards, and assigned initiatives to ensure each functional area meets operational goals; Examine products/tools to identify improvements in methods, procedures, equipment, and workflow to enhance operational performance and make recommendations to senior management; Lead studies at store sites and analyze the data to make recommendations on challenges and opportunities to improve business processes; Evaluate, recommend, and implement technical upgrades and potential new products for labor management; Conduct time and motion studies to develop engineered standards and solutions for store operations to increase productivity by defining business needs; Create, analyze, and maintain labor standards databases and related functions; Manage existing and future scheduling tools and techniques to meet desired service levels; Complies with all company policies and procedures; Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or related field preferred; Six (6) years' experience in retail operations, industrial engineering, accounting, or financial operations; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience required; Six Sigma Certification, preferred. Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time; Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently; Excellent PC skills including proficiency with the primary Microsoft Office applications, database applications and experience with ADP Workforce management (WFM) preferred; Advanced Excel Skills. Strong knowledge and experience with engineered work standards and performance management systems; Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams and to communicate with senior level executives across the organization; Ability to gather, analyze and utilize complex information to make decisions; Working knowledge of financial analysis and operational analysis; Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills; In-depth knowledge and experience in grocery-retail processes; Strong leadership skills including team facilitation, training, and motivation; Adept at preparing and delivering business presentations; Bilingual, fluent in Spanish. Physical Demands and Work Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use the hands to handle objects, tools, or controls. Successful performance requires vision abilities that include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is that typical of an office. The noise level ranges from quiet to loud. LIFTING: Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
