Lecturer AY - Industrial Manufacturing Engineering

Position Overview The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona is seeking qualified applicants to join its temporary faculty pool for part‑time lecturer positions. Positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and available funding, and candidates may be asked to begin teaching on short notice. Teaching Responsibilities Teach assigned courses in the IME Department curriculum, ensuring alignment with each course’s Expanded Course Outline (ECO). Maintain regular and accessible office hours in accordance with the University Office Hours Policy. Be responsive to departmental communication and administrative processes, responding to inquiries within two working days during semesters when teaching assignments are held. Engage in ongoing professional development activities offered by the university to maintain and enhance teaching effectiveness. Meet or exceed expected average student evaluation scores: ≤ 2.0 for faculty who have taught the same IME course for more than three semesters; ≤ 2.5 for those who have taught the same course for three semesters or fewer. Required Qualifications A master’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline relevant to the curriculum. Preferred Qualifications A Ph.D. in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline. Prior teaching experience at the college or university level with evidence of strong teaching. Appointments are one semester with prorated payment. Salary ranges: Lecturer A $5,507–$6,677, Lecturer B $6,221–$13,224, Lecturer C $6,825–$14,523, Lecturer D $8,593–$15,211.
