What you’ll do:

• Conduct therapeutic recreation assessments and track progress, outcomes, and discharge statuses
• Develop and implement treatment interventions aligned with institutional and clinical goals
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary staff including physicians, counselors, teachers, and physical therapists
• Observe, document, and analyze patient behavior and engagement during therapy sessions
• Educate clients on wellness, injury prevention, and treatment best practices
• Maintain awareness of current therapeutic recreation research and evidence-based methods

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a recreation therapist
• Certification as a recreation therapist by the California board of parks, or CTRS certification from NCTRC
• Valid American Heart Association CPR certification
• Ability to thrive in a corrections environment with professionalism and consistency
