Director, Government Affairs

Position requires candidate to live within the state of Michigan**** Position requires candidate to live within the state of Michigan**** Position Purpose Lobbies the state legislature and state agencies on behalf of the company. Directs government relations activities including, but not limited to: Sets or recommends legislative priorities and develops public policy positions; Analyzes and reviews state regulatory and legislative proposals, recommends and prepares appropriate company positions (including testimony before legislative bodies); Determines operational impact evaluations as necessary; Coordinates lobbying activities; Communicates legislative and regulatory changes. Recommends initiatives to improve financial performance. Serves as liaison/representative to state and national health plan associations. Prepares and presents reports to Board of Directors as assigned. Assists in compliance with state laws. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Education/Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Political Science, Health Administration or related field; Graduate degree desirable.
