TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Telemetry RN in Bakersfield, California, 93301!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Ability to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms Description: Unit has 31 beds, including private and semi-private rooms. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 to 4. Electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Charge roles include Shift Manager and Resource Nurse. Nurse aides are present, with 2 on days and 1 on nights. Weekend requirement is 4 shifts in a 4-week schedule. Weekend shifts for nights are Friday/Saturday, and Saturday/Sunday for days. Travelers are expected to participate in the holiday rotation schedule. Scrub color must be navy blue; any undershirts must be navy, white, or black. Telemetry equipment is Phillips. Must be proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac rhythms. Ventilators available include CPAP and BiPAP, managed by respiratory therapy. Clientist or intensivist is on call after hours. Pharmacy services are available 24/7. Shifts are from 7 to 7:30. Block scheduling may be allowed based on unit needs but is not guaranteed. Travelers will float first, potentially between specified units. Possible floating to MedSurg remote telemetry, MedSurg, or ICU for tele holds. Floor-specific orientation consists of 1-2 shifts with a preceptor. Common diagnoses include post pacemaker, those on hemodialysis, new onset atrial fibrillation, sepsis, and TBI. Patients may also include those with bedsores and various needs from nursing homes. Cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment. Charting system employed is Cerner.
