Position Overview

The Recruiting Specialist will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, interviewing, and recruiting qualified candidates to support the continued growth of our logistics agency.

This individual will play an important role in expanding our team by recruiting experienced freight brokers, account executives, carrier sales representatives, logistics coordinators, and operational support personnel.

The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who understands how to identify top talent, build professional relationships, and manage the recruiting process from initial outreach through onboarding.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable making outbound calls, engaging passive candidates, and consistently developing a strong pipeline of qualified professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Candidate Sourcing

• Proactively identify and recruit qualified candidates within the freight brokerage, transportation, and third-party logistics industries.
• Source candidates through LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, professional networks, referrals, and other recruiting platforms.
• Conduct outbound calls, emails, and direct outreach to prospective candidates.
• Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of experienced freight brokers, account executives, carrier sales representatives, and logistics support professionals.
• Identify experienced professionals who demonstrate strong sales ability, operational knowledge, and potential for long-term growth.

Candidate Screening & Interviewing

• Conduct initial phone screenings to evaluate candidate qualifications, professional experience, communication skills, and career objectives.
• Assess candidates' familiarity with freight brokerage operations, transportation management systems (TMS), carrier sourcing, and customer relationship management.
• Coordinate interviews between qualified candidates and company leadership.
• Maintain detailed candidate records, interview notes, and follow-up schedules.
• Evaluate candidates based on experience, professionalism, work ethic, and alignment with company expectations.

Recruitment Strategy & Business Growth

• Work directly with company leadership to identify hiring priorities and staffing requirements.
• Develop recruiting strategies to attract experienced, high-performing logistics professionals.
• Build relationships with prospective candidates, including individuals who may not be actively seeking new employment.
• Assist in creating and publishing professional job advertisements across multiple recruiting platforms.
• Track recruiting activity, candidate engagement, interview conversions, and successful placements.
• Continuously improve recruiting processes to increase efficiency and hiring effectiveness.

Hiring Coordination & Onboarding

• Manage candidate communication throughout the recruiting and hiring process.
• Coordinate interview scheduling, follow-ups, and employment offer discussions.
• Assist with onboarding documentation and new-hire coordination.
• Maintain organized recruiting records and provide regular hiring updates to management.
• Ensure a professional and positive candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, staffing, or a related field preferred.
• Experience recruiting within freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or sales-driven industries is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable conducting high-volume outbound recruiting calls and candidate outreach.
• Experience using LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, or similar recruiting platforms.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple candidates and open positions simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and general office software.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet recruiting goals.
• Professional, detail-oriented, motivated, and results-driven.
• Strong follow-through and ability to maintain consistent communication with candidates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience recruiting freight brokers, logistics account executives, or carrier sales representatives.
• Familiarity with the 3PL agency business model and freight brokerage industry.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or recruiting CRM platforms.
• Established professional network within transportation, freight brokerage, or logistics.
• Proven success sourcing and engaging passive candidates.
• Experience supporting a rapidly growing sales organization.
