Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

The General Production Worker supports the production of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) units by managing incoming battery shipments and ensuring all materials are properly prepared, organized, and moved to the appropriate production areas. This role focuses on handling battery components safely and efficiently to keep the production floor running smoothly and to support continuous workflow throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Receive and assist with unloading incoming battery shipments in a safe and efficient manner.

• Unbox battery packs and organize materials onto pallets for use in production.

• Sort and stage materials in an orderly and clearly labeled manner to support assembly operations.

• Transport batteries and components from packaging areas to designated production lines using appropriate equipment and methods.

• Ensure materials are readily available at production lines to maintain a consistent workflow and production efficiency.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with established safety standards and procedures.

• Perform repetitive assembly-related tasks as needed to support overall production output.

• Support the preparation of assembled units for testing and final production stages as cross-training opportunities arise.

• Learn and follow full production line processes and standard operating procedures to ensure quality and consistency.

• Operate production machinery and equipment after appropriate training, following all safety and operational guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably and repeatedly as part of daily tasks.

• Ability to perform repetitive assembly work while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

• Capability to handle, organize, and transport battery components safely throughout the production process.

• Strong focus on maintaining an organized workspace and following safety standards.

• Dependable work ethic with the ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.

• Willingness to support various tasks on the production floor to maintain efficiency and workflow.

Work Environment

This position operates in a production and manufacturing environment focused on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) units. The role follows a Gold 1 schedule of 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on a 2-3-2 rotating shift pattern, which provides a structured yet varied workweek. Work involves frequent handling, lifting, and moving of battery components and materials, as well as repetitive assembly tasks. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards, and employees work around production machinery and equipment in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
