Remote Human Resources Generalist

9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST or PST A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join its team in a fully remote, temp-to-hire capacity. This role will report directly to the HR Manager and support a team of approximately 47 employees. The organization is looking for a well-rounded HR professional who can serve as both an operational resource and a strategic partner, helping to strengthen HR processes and support employees across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and is comfortable balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR operations. Key Responsibilities Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees by supporting employee relations, answering HR-related questions, and helping resolve workplace concerns Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development planning Partner with hiring managers to support recruiting efforts, including coordinating interviews, assisting with candidate evaluation, and onboarding new hires Evaluate and improve existing HR processes and policies to increase efficiency, compliance, and overall effectiveness Review and update job descriptions to ensure they accurately reflect current roles and responsibilities Assist with payroll processing, timekeeping, and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, compliance tracking, and HR reporting Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including scheduling, documentation, and correspondence Develop and maintain HR databases and tracking systems to support reporting and workforce planning Qualifications 5+ years of HR Generalist experience with strong exposure across multiple HR functions Demonstrated experience with employee relations, performance management, and recruiting Experience supporting payroll processes preferred ADP experience highly preferred Strong understanding of HR best practices, policies, and employment regulations Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating with leadership and staff
